Our Vision

An empowered generation of African women influencing policies, economies, and cultures for a free, fair, and prosperous Africa.

Our Mission

To bridge the knowledge gap in women's rights and empower them to influence laws, economies, and societies through research, capacity building, and advocacy.

Who We Are

Malkia Africa Network is a pan-African women's rights think tank. We use structured, real-world field evidence to produce rigorous policy research and we use that research to change the laws, regulations, and institutions that govern African women's rights.

We call this the Evidence-to-Influence Engine. We maintain deliberate, bounded engagement with women practitioners, business owners, advocates, and community leaders across Africa not to deliver services to them, but to document the real barriers they face with analytical precision. That documented evidence becomes the foundation of our policy briefs, legislative submissions, and reform proposals.

Our Focus Areas

Property Rights

We work to dismantle discriminatory practices and empower women to claim, own, and manage property as a fundamental right.

Economic Rights

We focus on equipping women with the knowledge and tools to fully participate in the economy, addressing barriers to financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.

Individual Rights

We champion personal liberties such as freedom of speech, choice, and association, ensuring equal participation in decision-making.

Our Theory of Change

  • If women are sensitised in liberty principles, mentored in leadership, and connected to a supportive pan-African network,
  • Then they will act as change-agents, reformers and decision-makers influencing laws, economies, and cultural norms,
  • Leading to freer societies, stronger institutions, and sustainable prosperity across Africa.

The digital literacy class opened up a new world for my small craft business. I learned how to market my products online using social media, and now I receive orders from all over the country. My income has grown, and I feel more confident using technology to expand my reach.

When Malkia Africa started their property rights awareness campaign in our village, we saw a real shift. Women are now more confident in claiming their land, and disputes have reduced. Their work is strengthening our entire community.

I always felt my voice didn't matter in community meetings. After the leadership training, I learned how to speak up and contribute. Now, I am part of the local council, representing other women. Malkia Africa helped me find my power.
