Why We Focus on Women

Women in agriculture

Agricultural Labor

Across Sub-Saharan Africa, women contribute nearly 70% of agricultural labor, but own less than 15% of the land.

Despite their significant role in farming, women face barriers in land ownership, access to resources, and decision-making power. Our organization works to address these disparities by providing training, resources, and advocacy to empower women in agriculture.

  • Providing training on modern farming techniques.
  • Advocating for women's land rights.
  • Facilitating access to financial resources.
Women entrepreneurs

Financing Gap

Women entrepreneurs face a $42 billion financing gap, limiting their economic power.

This gap hinders women's ability to start and grow businesses, perpetuating cycles of poverty. We support women entrepreneurs through microfinance, mentorship, and access to funding opportunities to bridge this gap.

  • Offering micro-loans and grants.
  • Connecting women with investors and mentors.
  • Business and financial literacy training.
Women in community

Gender Based Violence

1 in 3 African women experience gender-based violence, which undermines their dignity, health, and participation in society.

Gender-based violence is a pervasive issue that affects women's safety and well-being. Our programs focus on prevention, support services, and legal advocacy to protect women and promote gender equality.

  • Running awareness and prevention campaigns.
  • Providing legal aid and support for survivors.
  • Working with communities to change harmful norms.
